Airport - Henri Coanda International Airport (OTP)

Most international flights arrive at Henri Coanda International Airport (Otopeni), located about 12 miles north of downtown Bucharest. Facilities include ATMs, an exchange office and cell phone rentals. Major car rental companies have offices located on the baggage claim level.
There are direct flights from multiple destinations in Europe and connecting flights from the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zeeland.

Transportation between Henri Coanda International Airport and city centre:

By Bus: Express Bus 783 offers daily service to the city centre, with stops at Baneasa Airport, Piata Presei Libere, Piata Victoriei, Piata Romana, Piata Universitatii and Piata Unirii. The bus leaves from the international departures terminal every 15 minutes (every 30 minutes after 8:30pm and during weekends), from 5:30am until 11:00pm. The journey to downtown takes approximately 40 minutes. Fare is 7 Lei (about 1.8 E) for a round-trip ticket.
By Taxi: Only licensed taxi companies are allowed in the airport. Fare to downtown Bucharest is about 15 Euro. The fee per km for trips from the airport is about 3.30 Lei (0.9 Euro/km).
By Train: "Henri Coanda Express" trains - Provide connection between Bucharest Henri Coanda International Airport and Bucharest North Railway Station. The passengers transfer between CFR "Airport Stop" and the airport passengers terminals is provided by buses whose schedule is synchronized with the trains schedule. The tickets are valid both for the train and for the transfer bus, the price being of 6,8 lei (1.5 E) per ticket.

Public Transportation

Bucharest's public transportation network includes: bus (autobuz), tram (tramvai),trolley bus (troilebuz) and subway (Metrou).

Buses, trams and trolley buses operate - between 5:00am and 11:59pm.

Tickets must be purchased beforehand and validated upon boarding. Travelers may be asked to show the validated ticket during the trip. Travelers without a validated ticket must pay a 50 Lei (13.00 Euro) penalty (Suprataxa).

Taxi service

In the city centre, taxis are easy to take from the street but we strongly recommend you use hotel taxis or to call a taxi by phone through the radio taxi service. Fees per km are posted on driver's and passenger doors.
